About Lisa

Dr. Lisa Brinkmann (Dipl.Psych., M.A., Ph.D)

 

Lisa is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist working in adult and adolescent mental health for over 20 years. She studied Clinical Psychology and Sex Research and Forensic Psychiatry at the University Hamburg and worked at the Institute for Sex Research at the University Hospital Hamburg until her return to Ireland in 2007. Since then she works in private practice in Clonakilty.

 

Lisa works in all areas of adult mental health, and she is specifically experienced and trained in the area of sexuality and gender.

She is also particularly skilled in working with any form of psychological trauma.

 

Lisa is also passionate about working with women on topics related to women's emotional, physical, mental, and sexual health. She has been leading workshops, retreats, and circles for women as well as teenage girls for the last 10 years.

Lisa is a certified Grof Breathwork Facilitator and Grof Psychedelic Therapist. 

She is also a faculty member of the nordic Grof Legacy Training program (GLT Nordic), where she works as a facilitator, teacher and supervisor, training students in Grof Breathwork and Grof Psychedelic Therapy.

Lisa is also a certified cacao facilitator and shamanic practitioner and has trained as a yoga teacher in many different modalities.

 

Lisa is always upskilling and training in different modalities to widen her personal and professional horizons. 

She is currently in ongoing training in transpersonal therapy, as well as various yoga (teacher) trainings. She recently finished a one year training with Gabor Mate in Compassionate Inquiry as well as a one year training in womb- and female specific yoga, tantra yoga, a Ayurvedic Comprehensive Foundation course and a course in Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy.

Lisa is the mother of 2 girls and is very content and happy living in the countryside, right at the beach, in the very south of Ireland. She enjoys riding her horse in her free time. She also loves music and plays various instruments as well as being involved in many other creative endeavours.
